Going through some of the work of Barcelona-based design studio from the last couple of years, I feel like I want to make a comparison between good, old wine and graphic design. Or write something about the timeless quality of good graphic design. They have been “playing with brands" since 2000 and have created an amazing body of work for a variety of clients. This exhibition poster was part of a city council project (2008) for a new space in Barcelona. I’m not sure about that circle, but everything else works great; I love the contrast of the different weight of the fonts, the lines - of course - and how the diagonal blocks of red and the photograph create an illusion of depth and height. I’ll be posting some of the rest of their work, but do check their website as they have a great variety of projects and work.
