I am not a branding expert, but I know an engaging, beautiful and well-crafted visual when I see one and New York-based Gretel's portfolio is filled with them. They have been working with some of the biggest TV networks in America such as CNN, VH1 and Showtime while the rest of their clients' list includes names like Google, MoMA and AIGA. It was their CNBC Prime branding project that caught my eye—and which could rightfully be in a 'love at first sight' post—but going through their website, I came across some wonderful examples of commercial and branding work I just had to share. Especially their work on IFC, which I pretty much love everything about: from naming the two typefaces 'the sidekick' and 'the hero', to the use of imagery and colour palette, they have created a brand voice, which not only speaks many languages (digital, print, promos) but it is as loud and clear as it is bold and fresh. Extra kudos for including the process, it could easily be a project on its own.
